    彫刻作品と自然との融合を目指し、人間愛に満ちた有機的な彫刻で知られるヘンリー・ムーアの作品。
    日本国内では滅多に入手できない大変貴重な作品です。
    この作品はヨーロッパの各地方地元の昔ながらのアンティークショップやコレクターから購入された物です。


    ヘンリー・ムーア 略歴 （１８９８年～１９８６年）

    イギリスのヨークシャー州に生まれる。
    師範学校後、第一次世界大戦に志願兵として入隊。 その後、ロンドン王立美術学校に。
    １９２８年 ロンドンにて初めての個展。
    １９３１年 ハンブルグ美術館が作品購入。抽象的作品を制作。
    １９３２年～１９３９年までチェルシー美術学校で彫刻を教える。
    １９３３年 ハーバート・リードやニコルソン、ヘップワースらと前衛芸術グループ「ユニット・ワン」を創立して国際的活動を開始。１９３６年 ロンドンでの「国際シュルレアリスム」展に参加。
    １９４６年 ニューヨーク近代美術館にて大回顧展。その後、米国内巡回。
    １９４８年 ヴェネツッア・ビエンナーレ彫刻部門で国際彫刻賞受賞。
    １９５１年 ロンドンのテート・ギャラリーでの大回顧展をはじめ世界各地大規模な展覧会が開かれ、２０世紀彫刻史の頂点に立作家の一人と目されている。
    １９５３年 サンパウロ・ビエンナーレで国際彫刻賞受賞。 ドイツ、ノルウェー、デンマークで巡回展。
    １９７１年 ミュンヘン近代美術館で展覧会。
    １９７２年 フィレンツェで大回顧展。
    １９７５年 ゴースラー賞受賞。
    半ば抽象化された形態にもかかわらず、自然の観察から得た力強い生命力の充実したヒューマニスティックな表現によって世界中の人々に親しまれている。
