    中島先生はパリでもウイーンでも英国でもなく、より日本の画壇の情報が伝わらないマドリッドに滞在することによって西欧絵画の大前提に立ち返ってデッサンからやり直し流行に流されず、ベラスケスやゴヤ、バルデス・レアルの幻想的描写に影響を受けひたすら中島先生独自の現代のテイストをあわせたスペインバロック形式を追求した。その装飾美はこの作品にも其処かしこに反映されております。
     
    １９７９年制作、中島先生がスペイン留学時の３０歳時の貴重な作品です。
     
     ●画家の経歴
    名門スペイン王立サン・フェルナンド美術学校（現マドリード大学美術学部）にて学んだ写実力で華やかな民族衣装の人物像や花などを描く。スペイン、マドリード在住。
    1949年 愛知県一宮市に生まれる
    1971年 スペイン王立サン・フェルナンド美術学校入学
    1972年 同大学より名誉登録・優秀賞受賞
    1975年 サン・フェルナンド美術館買い上げ
    1976年 同大学教職コース終了
    1977年～東京・名古屋・大阪にて個展多数開催
     現 在 スペイン・マドリード在住
