    Item Description

    【根上富治】
    日本画院同人の画家。享年86。

    1895(明治28)年1月5日山形県酒田市に生まれ。

    東京美術学校で日本画を学び、結城素明に師事。

    1921(大正10)年の第2回帝展にて、「雨後群鶏の図」が初入選、第4回帝展では「飼鷹」が特選を受賞した。

    1938(昭和13)年の日本画院創立に際しては、川崎小虎、望月春江、野田九浦、町田曲江らと共に創立同人として名を連ねた。

    1937年頃より終戦頃まで、帝国美術学校(現武蔵野美術大学)にて教鞭をとっている。

    戦後も、日展、日本画院に出品し、日展では49年の第5回展より依嘱出品となった。
