    		　簀桁の動かし方や紙の微妙な厚さなど、機械には真似できない職人技に頼ってすばらしい紙を制作します。
    通気性に優れる
    		　手漉き紙は長い植物繊維が絡み合い結合してシートになっているだけです。顕微鏡で覗いてみるとたくさんの隙間があります。この隙間から空気が行き来しますので、日本家屋の障子では外の季節を肌で感じることができます。
    透光性に優れる
    		　手漉き紙の隙間は光も通します。その光は繊維によって屈折され、とても柔らかい光になります。
    伸縮性に優れる
    		　繊維は非常に長いので、湿らせて紙を伸ばしてやることができます。また、障子紙を張り替えたあとに霧吹きで水をかけてやると、やがて、乾燥しパンパンに張ります。
    折り畳みに強い
    		　和紙は長い繊維ですから、折り畳みを繰り返してもなかなか破れません。
