    西武鉄道では、現在の新宿線及び国分寺線のルーツにあたる川越鉄道が2025年3月21日に開業130周年を迎えることを記念し、4000系車両で川越鉄道開業時の区間を走行する臨時列車の旅を2025年4月12日に開催。
    今回は川越鉄道全線開業区間の始発駅にあたる本川越駅から出発、途中の南入曽車両基地内では車両の検査・点検等を行うピットへの入場や洗車体験、そして東村山駅までの旅を、4000系車両で撮影。
